An Image widget in the Signature Designer can show a different image for each employee. The image comes from an image-type custom field in Company Data.
How image-type custom fields work
An image-type custom field gives each employee their own image in one of two ways:
Predefined images: each employee gets one option from a list of predefined images.
Individual images: an image is set individually for each person.
The Image widget works with both kinds of field.
Add an employee image to a signature
In Company Data, make sure your image-type custom field is filled in for your employees.
In Signature Management, open the signature in the Signature Designer and add an Image widget.
Select the widget, then choose Properties → Source → Custom images. You can also open the Custom images tab in the Insert image dialog.
Pick your image field.
Use Preview as to check a few employees, then publish.
When you link the widget to the field, a hidden if empty visibility rule is added automatically.
How the image appears
Each employee's own image: The signature shows the option chosen for that employee, or the image set for them in Company Data. It appears in their delivered signature in Gmail and Outlook.
Correct proportions: The image is fitted into the widget's box without distortion. The size and shape controls in the Signature Designer work as usual.
No image, no gap: If an employee has no image, the widget is hidden and leaves no gap.
Removed images stay removed: If an employee's image was explicitly removed, the field's default option isn't shown for them either. This works the same way as in the Legacy Editor.
In short, one Image widget linked to an image-type custom field gives every employee a signature with their own image, without a separate signature for each person.
Good to know
Only image-type custom fields can be used as custom images.
Image-type custom fields can also be used in the Legacy Editor. Signatures built there keep working as they are.
