Some Signature Designer layouts used to need workarounds. Disclaimers were limited to 500 characters and couldn’t have their own font, and a divider always stretched across the whole signature. The September updates remove those workarounds. They also make email links open a new email and give every Signature Designer signature the same fixed width.
Disclaimers
Twice the text: Disclaimers can now be up to 1,000 characters long.
Choose a font: Use the new Font dropdown in the Style section. Existing disclaimers look the same as before.
Follows your signature font: The Inherit from signature option has been removed. When you change the font in General settings, the new font applies to the disclaimer and every other widget, including widgets where you picked a different font. If a widget should keep a different font, select it again for that widget afterwards.
Single line: Use the Single line option in the Size section to keep a short disclaimer on one line.
Email links
When you use an email address as a link, it now opens a new email instead of a website. This applies whether you type the address yourself or add it with the Email variable on a Button, Image, Icon or Text widget.
Dividers
Matches its widget: A horizontal line dropped above or below a widget now matches that widget’s width for each employee, however long their name is.
Need a full-width line? Drop the line on the widest widget or on the edge of the signature, turn on Auto fill for the group, or set a Length for the line.
Groups: A widget dropped above or below a grouped widget joins that group, unless you drop it on the edge of the signature.
A fixed 550 px width
Every Signature Designer signature is now 550 px wide and still shrinks to fit on phones.
The canvas and the over-width warning use the same 550 px width.
New Disclaimer widgets no longer start at 600 px, which was wider than the signature. Existing disclaimers keep their current width.
Legacy Editor signatures are unchanged.
Good to know
Check backgrounds and borders. A theme background color or a border around the whole signature now fills the full 550 px. If your signature has either one, check it in Preview.
Keep single-line disclaimers short. A long single-line disclaimer runs past 550 px. That triggers the over-width warning and makes phones shrink the whole email to fit.
A disclaimer can still be wider than the signature. Its width setting still accepts up to 600 px. Keep it at 550 px or less if it should stay within the signature.
